Dr Ying Ying Liu - Founder - LumiVoce

Ying Ying was born into a musical family in China in the ‘60s and musical mastery, it is said, came to Ying Ying almost without effort, "like a gracious gift."  Her father, Liu Chi, was the most celebrated Chinese classical composer of the 20th century.  As a youngster at the elbow of her father, Ying Ying learned what her father termed, “the essence and truth of the Chinese song” and the knowledge of Chinese and Western orchestral scores.  It was the sheer grace of her voice and piano brilliance that steered her towards developing her talents in the West. Ying Ying has performed across Europe, the US, and Asia and has a Masters of Music from Cleveland Institute Music in Cleveland, Ohio and received her Doctorate from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY.

In addition to her musical career, Ying Ying is a global leadership, cross cultural, and diversity and inclusion consultant - this is in fact how we got to know each other when we partnered on many client programmes across Asia.

Ying Ying founded LumiVoce, which means ‘illuminating with sound’, in 2016 to inspire and educate youth to fall in love with wildlife and nature through the power of music, arts, and education, because “we protect what we love“.
