Mapping global pollution and maritime hazards - in conversation with Cath Robertshaw, COO, Eyesea

Hi, listeners! I am so excited to be speaking with a good friend of mine for over 18 years- we have known each other from our Singapore days! I’m talking to Cath Robertshaw, Chief Operating Officer of Eyesea, a nonprofit organization with a mission to map global pollution and maritime hazards.

Cath was born in Wales and grew up in South Africa, returning to the UK for her studies. She has a BA from the University of Bangor in Wales- funny factoid here- I used to live on the Isle of Anglesey in the town of Beaumaris in Wales and had many a pint at the university pub! :-)  And after Cath completed her BA she attended the University of Lester where she received her Postgraduate Certificate in Education and kicked off her career teaching for 15 years in the UK and Asia.

As with many of the extraordinary women I interview, Cath redefined her career and now leads Eyesea’s efforts to map global pollution and maritime hazards. Without proper data on maritime pollution – what and where it is – effective solutions are hard to find.

Lots to learn and unpack here, so have a listen and consider how you can help Eyesea track data. The Eyesea app is available for both Apple and Andrioid phones and it’s free.

And feel free to reach out to Cath directly at cath@eyesea.org if you have questions or want more information.
